Mrs. Frederick calls in the Regents to have a look at Leena. Pete, Mika, and Claudia go in search of an artifact that is projecting B-movie clips into the real world.
This episode was all things Farnswoth, with tricked out communicators and movie camera artifacts. I was a bit disappointed by this episode, which I found to be only mildly entertaining. I considered this week’s artifact, a 3D projector gone bad, to be just plain silly. The humor in this episode seemed forced and almost made the show feel like a bad sitcom. Mrs. Frederick’s mind probe on Leena was bit overdone and brought almost nothing to an already failing episode.
I was quite surprised by this week’s dud and felt a bit robbed, since the season started out with a bang. Warehouse 13‘s writing needs to get back on track. This is a series with so much potential, which I felt was squandered with terrible punchlines and a continued dumbing-down of Pete’s character. Pete did not know what “RTFM” meant as an acronym. He is, however, painted as a closet geek…go figure.
Artie was also a bit weak, this week. Claudia was the only shining light this episode–she plays one good hacker and misfit. Overall I do not have much more to say about this episode; I left it feeling kind of empty. It was, to me, a whole bunch of nothing, an endless drone. It almost reminded me of a dreaded Syfy original movie. I am hoping next week the warehouse is back to being the show to watch, and not there just to fill digital airspace. A B-episode about a B-movie artifact: ironic?
