After destroying the umbilicus, MacPherson rescues another prisoner from the Bronze Sector and travels to Europe for the next step in his plan. Pete and Myka identify the missing prisoner: H.G. Wells. Meanwhile, Mrs. Frederic determines the true traitor, and Claudia is briefly reunited with her brother.
Warehouse 13 is back! It held no punches and brought coolness back to Syfy!
Let us start with the awesome guest appearance of Jaime Murray (Dexter’s infamous Lila from Season 2). She plays the real H.G Wells, who was imprisoned at Warehouse 13. She rocked this episode and made it cooler the moment she popped on screen. This season opener picks up right where season one left off, and to everyone’s relief Artie survives McPherson’s trap. Despite his plans, McPherson’s partner in crime, H.G Wells, betrays him and brings about his death at the episode’s end. Claudia and Leena are cleared of possible espionage charges, all thanks to the efforts of the Warehouse’s crack team. Yet in the end H.G Wells escapes with some personal effects once stored in a secret part of the Warehouse. This episode was a steampunk paradise, thanks to H.G Wells and a bunch of cool steampunk artifacts. I think Jaime Murray is going to make one awesome villain. There was also a maze made by M. C. Escher, making this episode a truly unforgettable for me.
After watching tonight’s premiere. I was reminded how much I missed this quirky and truly original show. I was able to drop right back into this great show and its awesome cast, as if no time had passed since I had last seen them. It was great to see further character development and story progression, to boot. Seeing Mrs. Frederick do more than just brood about was a real treat, and seeing her in action, priceless. Pete and Myka keep bringing the classic agent (partners) scenario to whole new level with their humorous banter and growing sexual tension, while cyberpunk Claudia is every fan-boy’s dream brought to life the small screen. Let’s not forget the star of the show, Artie, with his quirky mannerisms and great one liners. Did I mention how much I missed this show?
Future episodes promise more great guest stars and a crossover with another Syfy favorite, Eureka. Warehouse 13 proves once more that Syfy can make great television; now if they could only get those original movies right. While we wait for that, you should definitely tune in for future episodes of Warehouse 13, for what promises to be a great new season.
