Avengers Comic Con Teaser

Tease: (verb) 1. to irritate or provoke with persistent petty distractions, trifling raillery, or other annoyance, often in sport.
2. Teaser: slang for a short scene or highlight shown to attract the audience’s attention.

If mastermind Joss Whedon wishes to tease, he has just succeeded! Only in this case, I’d like to change the word ‘petty’ from the above definition and switch it with the word ‘pretty’. Comic Con San Diego is the annual Mecca of super hero geeks. Whedon was there and so were his Avengers. That’s right, after live action versions of Marvel mega-hero flicks Thor and Captain America: the First Avenger make their debut in theaters May 20th, 2011 and July 22nd, 2011 respectively, the ensemble film The Avengers will finally be delivered to fans. Who could resist some teasing?

And when I say ensemble, I mean the star powered ensemble, which includes Johansson as Black Widow, Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Ruffalo as Hulk, Evans as Captain America, Renner as Hawkeye, and (drool) Hemsworth as Thor. See the cast photographed together at Comic Con. That’s SHIELD leader, Nick Fury, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, you hear voicing this first teaser for the film. The Avengers will unite on May 4th, 2012. I guarantee it will be a day unlike any other.
