Dear Gemma Arterton, I came across the poster for one of your next films on ComingSoon.net today, Tamara Drew, starring you and Bill Camp and Roger Allam and, hell, who cares? They could have stopped with you. Every time you star in a movie, whether it’s that blasted Clash of the Titans remake or the Prince of Persia movie where Jake Gyllenhaal plays the British Arab, who can jump back in time and undo the entire movie by the end of it, I find myself immensely entertained.
Yes, I could watch you read silently for hours, so it doesn’t even matter that Tamara Drew is based on an acclaimed graphic novel from the amazingly talented Posy Simmonds, or that Stephen Frears, 42-year veteran director of films such as Dangerous Liaisons and The Grifters, is helming the project. All that matters is that for two hours on October 8, you and I will be together once more in a darkened theater with only a few audience members, an usher, and maybe two police officers to stop us from picking up where we left off.
