Sucker Punch Poster Art by Alex Pardee!

Comic Con was a veritable treasure trove this year and visionary director Zack Snyder took part. Yes, the force behind 300 and Watchman has been busily building his babes and bullets feature Sucker Punch (see the teaser trailer now). We’ve got fantastically whimsical poster art work by artist Alex Pardee to promote the film. Some lucky Comic Con San Diego attendees received these posters. They are pretty reminders of the colorful characters of the film, including Blondie, Madame Gorski, Sweet Pea (reminiscent of Marvel’s Elektra, no?), Amber, and the leader, Baby Doll. You can also savor the more realistic character posters for the film.

We have these images thanks to io9.com who further reported Snyder’s commentary about the film. He said, “I dream in a different way. I guess that’s what our movie is about, for me anyway. One of the mechanisms of the film, or the procedural parts of the movie, is that when one of the girls fantasizes or closes her eyes, whatever you want to call it, their adventure parallels a little adventure they’re doing in reality. Like, for instance, they need to steal a lighter that has dragon etched on it. It’s the simplest thing ever. That’s what they’re really doing. Baby Doll’s version of it is what you see, that’s the movie — part of it. She closes her eyes, they go to another freakin’ world, they fight a dragon, they have a B-25 with a jet engine, they finally slit the baby dragon’s throat and then…” Debbie Snyder, his wife interjects, “Steal the fire.” Zack continues, “Absolutely, they steal the fire. She ends up killing the dragon and when she comes to, and the music ends, and that object has been stolen because she has successfully distracted the person they needed to distract.”

The couple went on to reveal that Sucker Punch is made up of four fantasies that take place on three different levels. Watch your back Christopher Nolan! Snyder was thinking the same thing when he said, “I think Inception had four levels of reality. So, we didn’t have quite as much money.” Then he laughed. BSC has a Sucker Punch banner that is also stunning.
