Aronofsky in the Running to Direct Superman
Darren Aronofsky, director of The Wrestler and the acclaimed upcoming film Black Swan, now appears to be in Christopher Nolan and Warner’s sights as the potential frontrunner to the Man of Steel reboot. We told you things would move fast on this, and it looks like we were right. Out is Ben Affleck, reports THR, darling of Tinseltown after knocking critics and audiences alike dead with his superior effort The Town. With Affleck conceding, it’s now down to Aronofsky and the other wish list of directors Nolan is considering.
Whatever Nolan decides, we’re hoping that his handprints are all over this thing. No one wants a repeat of the godawful Superman Returns, and who better than the guy that brought respect back to Batman to help Supes out? Whatever Nolan decides, it should go quite well with Natalie Portman as Lois Lane. (A guy can hope, can’t he?)
