Chloe Moretz in Emily The Strange
I worry about Chloe Moretz. Don’t get me wrong, the pretty and capable preteen is having a great career. She has over 25 roles to her credit already. It’s the type of roles that give me mild concern. Moretz first hit my radar screen when she stepped into the cape of Hit Girl in comic book adaptation Kick-Ass. That’s what she did, too… You’ll catch on. I think she killed or KO’d more attackers than Scarlet Johansson did in her Iron Man 2 fight sequence. Moretz’s role was most controversial because a villain, an adult male to be exact, beats her up.
Then I recently saw Moretz in Not Forgotten along side Simon Baker, televisions Mentalist, as a victim of kidnapping who becomes immersed in Santa Muerte. Yikes! Moretz also snagged the female lead in the American remake of cult vampire hit Let the Right One In. The title has been changed to Let Me In for some odd reason. You can see the international trailer here on BSC.
What’s next in her slew of unusual roles? She’s “attached to star in Universal’s adaptation of the Dark Horse comic Emily the Strange, her publicist has confirmed to TheWrap.com.” Emily the Strange is a “gothic counterculture character” with white skin and black hair who you may have seen printed on clothing and accessories at places like Hot Topic. Maybe I shouldn’t worry. Christina Ricci took a similar path in Hollywood, am I right?
