Jennifer Morrison on How I Met Your Mother?

You may remember the goodly Dr. Allison Cameron from her time as a veteran of House on Fox. She also had a small role on the latest Star Trek film as the mother of James T. Kirk. She was, in fact, in labor during the opening. We’ll next see her when she appears on CBS’s comedy, How I Met Your Mother, alongside Ted (Josh Radnor), Robin (Cobie Smulders), Marshall (Jason Segel), Lily (Alyson Hannigan), and that incorrigible Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) if all goes in her favor.

In an EW.com exclusive, it was revealed that Morrison is “among a handful of actresses in the running to play a major new love interest for Ted.” As fans know, the central theme of the fun sitcom is an effort to uncover who it is Ted eventually marries (and impregnates). Bob Saget is that older, wiser voice of Ted you hear narrating the show to his future children.

Morrison would be playing “a quick-witted, rabble-rousing activist who initially clashes with Ted over the planned demolition of a historic New York hotel”. Her role would also be recurring! EW further released that Morrison recently filmed an episode of NBC’s Chase “opposite her real-life boyfriend, Amaury Nolasco.”

Chase is a new cop drama following fugitive-apprehension team consisting of U.S. Marshals. It stars Kelli Giddish who we know from a now canceled drama, (filmed in my home state of Georgia, where Giddish is also from) Past Life. Cole Hauser (Paparazzi, The Family that Preys) and Jesse Metcalfe (Passions, John Tucker Must Die) also star in Chase.

How I Met Your Mother returns for season five September 20th. Rachel Bilson will also return to the series in the upcoming season.
