Noomi Rapace in Sherlock Holmes 2

Well, I’m sure not to be the first brilliant internet writer to make this play on language, but Warner has decided that the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo should go toe-to-toe with the World’s Greatest Detective. In the upcoming Guy Ritchie-directed Sherlock Holmes 2, we know that Holmes (Robert Downey, Jr.) and Watson (Jude Law) will return. We know that Holmes’ brother Mycroft will appear. We know that Moriarty will be the featured villain. And we’ve got a good idea that Noomi Rapace, the star from the popular Swedish adaptations of the Stieg Larsson trilogy, will be playing a French Gypsy alongside Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic character. We also know it all thanks to the folks at HR.

What we don’t know, HR either for that matter, is whether Rapace will be a potential love interest or not. She lost out to the American versions of the Larsson books, so kissing on Downey, Jr., would probably be considered a good consolation prize by the actress. Nevertheless, we’ll have to wait a bit longer before Warner will indulge us with the details on this or a release date. After how the last one turned out, however, I’m definitely looking forward to it.
