Our friends at Collider brought these to our attention today. All you Facebookers can rejoice. The anticipated October 1 release of David Fincher’s The Social Network starring Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake has posted tons of pics on the official site. We’ve got a few of them for you here. One who doesn’t hate Facebook as much as I do should find this info very titillating, though Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has gone on record as stating the film is mostly rubbish.
From an interview with Diane Sawyer:
“I just think people have a lot of fiction…. The real story of Facebook is just that we’ve worked so hard for all this time…I mean, the real story is actually probably pretty boring, right?…We just sat at our computers for six years and coded.”
Zuckerberg disagrees with the way the film portrays him as starting the popular social networking application to get girls, and I’m inclined to agree with him. People who get to where he is today rarely do so with that as a serious motivation. But anything to sell a sensationalized account, I suppose. That’s America for you, and, increasingly, the world at large.
