Dwayne Johnson – “Faster” trailer

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson goes all Charles Bronson in the upcoming action/thriller Faster. Johnson stars as an ex-con set on avenging his brother’s death after the two were double-crossed during a heist years back. The film is directed by George Tillman Jr. (Notorious and Soul Food) and boasts a stellar cast that includes Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Jennifer Carpenter, Maggie Grace, Tom Berenger and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

This might be Johnson’s breakout role that will turn him into a bona fide action star, a la Arnold Schwarzenegger. Years back when he starred in The Scorpion King, I thought he was a sure bet to be the next big action star. It took a little longer than I thought. He has done some good work in films since then, but he still hasn’t gotten that big role to take him over the top. The film is set to hit theaters in the U.S. on November 24, 2010.
