Emily Blunt in Rian Johnson’s Looper

Pay attention to this one, sci fi fans. Director Rian Johnson (The Brothers Bloom) has written a time-travel thriller. The project is called Looper and revolves around a group of killers who send the bodies of their victims back in time, according to Variety.com. Emily Blunt will star in the film as “a single mother forced to go to great lengths to protect her son.”

Who will share the screen with Blunt? How about Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Gordon-Levitt more than proved his worth in this year’s big sci fi mind trip, Inception. In fact, it won’t be his first time under the direction of Rian Johnson. Johnson won the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival for Brick, a hard-boiled detective story, which unravels at a suburban high school and starred Gordon-Levitt. Brick had a rabbit hole of a plot with some of the best dialogue in film history. That’s reason enough to put Looper on the top of my must see list. Blunt and Willis don’t hurt things either.
