M. Night Shyamalan working on One Thousand A.E.

M. Night Shyamalan, or “Shammalammadingdong” as some of you like to call him, is getting ready to team with yet another big-name Hollywood A-lister. That’s right, the man whose been soiling cinema since The Village is working on a project with Will Smith. But before you get too excited, Fresh Prince fans, you should know that Smith won’t be starring. At least not the Smith you probably want to see.

The project, One Thousand A.E., is being set up at Will Smith’s production company, reports THR, and the leading actor for the part is Mr. Karate Kid Redux himself Jaden Smith. THR says that there is a role for an adult male in the sci-fi feature, but Daddy Smith is not in the running for it. A stroke of luck in the film’s favor: the script is written by Book of Eli scribe Gary Whitta, and not the guy who gave you a movie about killer trees. As for M. Night, he is also working on an untitled project that has Bruce Willis, Bradley Cooper, and Gwyneth Paltrow “loosely attached,” the famous film industry trade paper said.
