The Lizard is Spidey’s Movie Villain?
No sooner have we covered Rhys Ifans’ casting for Spiderman than we can let you know that he may play Dr Curt Connors, aka The Lizard in Marc Webb’s production of the Marvel story.
There was some speculation surrounding the possibilities, but Sony have thwarted all suspicions by making the announcement, which we caught courtesy of The Wrap.
Ifans will play the villainous antagonist opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Parker’s first love, who was another surprise casting given the speculation that Stone might take the role of Mary Jane. Sony, throughout the casting process, have been throwing up any number of unexpected moves and the wait isn’t over yet.
Spiderman will begin production in December with an opening date of July 3rd 2012, and is set to be a surefire hit created under the watchful eye of Marc Webb (we wonder how many puns have been made on the name?)
