Welcome to the Rileys – Kristen Stewart – International trailer

Welcome to the Rileys hits France on Nov. 10, and we’ve got the international trailer for you. It appears to be loaded with some pretty fine performances, and that’s good news for director Jake Scott, Ridley’s son. Jake has been kicking around the Hollywood scene for a while now with some pretty solid material of his own, including Plunkett and Macleane and music documentaries with the likes of U2, Cypress Hill, and the Cranberries. He’s also assembled a terrific cast.

James Gandolfini stars as Doug Riley. Melissa Leo is his wife Lois, and Kristen Stewart is Mallory, the wayward young woman that Riley befriends and decides to take care of. This drama looks like it could go to some uncomfortable places in true slice-of-life fashion, and that’s just the sort of thing the Academy loves. It is also the kind of material that creates an A-list director. As an avid fan of the action-thriller Plunkett and Macleane, I’d love to see Jake Scott follow more in his father’s footsteps. But those are some pretty large shoes to fill.
