Amanda Seyfried as Red Riding Hood – PIC
Catherine Hardwicke’s dark revisitation of the Red Riding Hood legend appears to be on its way, as two new stills from the movie are featured in a new edition of EW. Thanks to ShockTillYouDrop for the heads up on this. The film will star Amanda Seyfried, who is featured prominently in these photos, but it will also rely on support from Max Irons and Gary Oldman. Oldman stars as a Witchfinder General out to rid Red’s village of evil forces.
The easy money says that part of that evil will be furry, have big fangs, and get loud around full moons. Based on the Grimm Brothers Fairy Tale and not the kiddy-fied versions you might have grown up with, Red Riding Hood will open on March 11, 2011, and co-stars Billy Burke, Lukas Haas, Virginia Madsen, and Julie Christie.
