Batman 3: The Dark Knight Rises – Charlize Theron, Casting Rumors

Its Batman 3, people. There will be rumors. Yes, Chris Nolan returns to direct a third caped crusader epic. We know Christian Bale (Batman), Michael Caine (Alfred), Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox) and Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordon) are coming back to the big screen for The Dark Knight Rises (which will not premier in 3D). We also know The Riddler will not be our villain during the adventure and Inception‘s Tom Hardy will be along for the ride in an unspecified role (Friends of BSC like him for casting as Killer Croc). But every bat needs a love interest and according to our friends over at Collider, Charlize Theron, Vera Farmiga, and Kacie Thomas (The Burning Plain) might appear in Batman 3.

It seems the gorgeous Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up in the Air) and blond Kacie Thomas have both auditioned for the role Julie Madison, a love interest of Bruce Wayne featured in Detective Comics #31 which was released in 1939. Theron on the other hand, was approached for the role of Detective Sarah Essen, who eventually falls for Commissioner Gordon in the Batman mythos.
