Christian Bale – ‘Dark Knight Rises’ 3rd & Final Batman?

Here at BSC, we are all about the Batman. We can’t wait to learn more solid details about Christopher Nolan’s upcoming follow up to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Of course, we already know the basics. Tom Hardy is in the movie, called The Dark Knight Rises, but who will he play? The third Batman film wil feature some kind of ground-breaking technology, but it isn’t exactly IMAX related. Does that mean I can pray it is some sort of CGI utilized to bring to life my favorite villain, Clayface? That probably isn’t it, given Nolan’s noir track record. Maybe it will follow the vein of that giant hamster wheel revolving set from Inception. We also know there are female roles up for grabs, but aren’t yet sure who will get them.

So here’s a question! Will Batman 3 be the final Nolan Batman? We don’t know, but it could just prove the final Batman with actor Christian Bale dawning the black suit. In an interview with MTV about his more dramatic role in the upcoming boxer flick, The Fighter, a film which has already garnered Oscar buzz, Bale admits this could be his final bout as Caped Crusader.

“I think so. That’s up to Chris,” he said. “That was always what the discussion was. But you know, if Chris says, ‘I see another story here,’ then we’ll be up for it. But in my mind, I’m expecting this will be it.”

His comments led interviewers to ask about a return as Frank Miller’s version of Bats, “in which a 55-year-old Bruce Wayne comes out of retirement.”

To that idea Bale said, “That maybe would not be bad,” with a chuckle. “Maybe in 20 years time, but you need that break.”
