David Tennant Cast in United

Scotland-born actor David Tennant was Britain’s tenth Doctor on the widely popular sci fi series Doctor Who. He’s played in Hamlet, he’s got an enormous television filmography, he lent his voice to How to Train Your Dragon, and even flicked his tongue at Harry Potter as Barty Crouch Jr. in The Goblet of Fire. And the news today from Variety, has him attached to a new drama.
“United [is] the true story of Manchester United’s Busby Babes, the youngest team to win the English soccer league before eight players died in the Munich air crash of 1958.” Tennant is slated to portray Jimmy Murphy, the team’s head coach.
If you’re a Tennant fan you’ll also be delighted to know, according to BBC News, he’ll also appear in the upcoming Fright Night remake! His role? “The character originally portrayed by Roddy McDowall in the 1985 movie.” This was confirmed by THR. Read more about Fright Night on BSC.
