First Green Lantern Trailer – Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively!

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming film Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Blake Lively (Gossip Girl). The film is based on the DC comic about a test pilot who is granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping peace within the universe. The film is directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale and The Legend of Zorro). Some of the rest of the cast include Peter Sarsgaard (Boys Don’t Cry), Mark Strong (Kick-Ass), Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), Angela Bassett (What’s Love Got to Do with It), Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones) and Jon Tenney (The Closer). It will be interesting to see how Reynolds fares as Green Lantern. I never imagined him the leading man of a superhero flick; he always struck me as the funny sidekick. But who knows, he may blow everyone away, just as Michael Keaton did when he starred in the first Batman film. Many were skeptical if Keaton could pull it off, and he surprised everyone with a great performance.
