Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace Lockout at FilmDistrict

Luc Besson is at it again with his sci-fi action-thrillers, and considering how dig-worthy The Fifth Element was, that’s not such a bad thing. This time he’s uniting Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace with directors James Mather and Stephen St. Leger for Lockout, a film he has co-written and will produce. Lockout tells the story of a falsely convicted ex-government agent (Pearce), who must undertake the dangerous mission of rescuing the President’s daughter (Grace) if he wants to attain his freedom.

ComingSoon.net reports that Peter Stormare and Tom Hollander will also star. No word yet on a release date, but it will be the first film for the newly formed production company FilmDistrict, who will be acquiring all U.S. rights on the EuropaCorp production. Bob Berney, president of theatrical distribution, told the site, “Luc and Pierre-Ange (co-founder of EuropaCorp) are creating a highly entertaining sci-fi film with classic action sequences, a gripping story and a great cast that audiences will love.”
