Johnny Depp to star in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows
Not that this is particularly new news–the rumors have been circulating for more than a year–but THR confirmed today that Johnny Depp’s next film role will be as the iconic Barnabas Collins in a new film version of Dark Shadows. The really great news about this project is that it reteams Mr. 21 Jump Street with Tim Burton. The duo have been great for each other in the past.
Edward Scissorhands. Sleepy Hollow. Ed Wood. Sweeney Todd. Alice in Wonderland. Not a bad one in the bunch, if you ask us. And on a personal note, this one has more in common with my favorites: Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd. Doesn’t hurt that Dark Shadows is a terrific show either! April (when shooting starts) cannot come soon enough.
