Mike White Directing Pride and Prejudice Zombies
Mike White, director of Year of the Dog, has officially gotten the nod to helm Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s comedic retelling of the Jane Austen classic. As the title indicates, the key difference is the addition of brain-munching zombies. According to Deadline, David O. Russell was originally attached to direct.
But then, Natalie Portman was an original frontrunner to star, and now that’s not happening, so stability has never been the project’s strong suit. Who knows, though? Now that we’ve advanced beyond the rumor stages to an actual director, it’s time to get the parts of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet filled. Rumors favor Bradley Cooper and Scarlett Johansson, but with ScarJo busy on We Bought a Zoo, it may not be possible. Who do you think would be good for the roles?
