Patrick Fugit and Elle Fanning added to Damon and Johansson in We Bought a Zoo

Yawn, moan, zzzzz… Those sounds, of course, are of me getting ready to write about the additions of Patrick Fugit and Elle Fanning to the cast of We Bought a Zoo starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson. The announcement came today from the website Deadline, and while the cast is shaping up to be pretty capable and the talent behind the camera has certainly proven himself, this movie sounds damn boring. That’s not to say we won’t give it a watch. Just initial observations. After all, shooting hasn’t even started yet.

In the movie, which is based on Benjamin Mee’s memoir, Fanning will play Lilly, the daughter of ScarJo’s character, who works at the zoo’s restaurant in spite of not being old enough to legally do so. No word on who the hell Fugit will be playing. Many of you will remember him as a pseudo-Cameron Crowe of sorts in the autobiographical film Almost Famous.
