Sofia Vergara wants Al Pacino to be her Daddy
Colombian bombshell Sofia Vergara wants Al Pacino to recreate his tough-talking, sociopathic Scarface character Tony Montana to play her father on the U.S. hit comedy Modern Family, according to Wonderwallmsncom.
The model/actress is keen to revisit her character Gloria’s native country with her TV family in a future episode, and Pacino is at the top of her wish list to play her over-protective father. She says, “In some other season we should go to Cartagena and meet Gloria’s family in Colombia. “I was telling them (producers) that they need to put Al Pacino like my father (sic), talking like Tony Montana… He should be Gloria’s father.”
Modern Family is a half-hour television comedy series that was created by Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan and is produced by Fox Television Studios and presented in a mockumentary style.
The mockumentary follows the families of Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill), his daughter Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen), and his son Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) who live in Los Angeles. Claire is a homemaker mom married to Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell); they have three children. Jay is married to a much younger Colombian woman, Gloria (Vergara), and is helping her raise her pre-teen son, Manny. Mitchell and his partner Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet) have adopted a Vietnamese baby, Lily. The series debuted on FOX September 23, 2009.
In 2010, following its first season, the series won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as two other Emmy Awards, Outstanding Supporting Actor in Comedy Series for Eric Stonestreet, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd.
Vergara has made Maxim‘s list of Top 100 sexiest women several times as will as similar lists for Stuff Magazine and FHM-USA . Some of the films that she has appeared in include Chasing Papi, Four Brothers and Madea Goes To Jail. She will also appear in the upcoming films The Smurfs and Happy Feet 2 in 3D.
