Batman Dark Knight Rises: Nolan’s “last chapter of our Batman saga”

When last we reported on the latest breaking Batman 3 news, the story centered upon an interview with the man in black himself. No, not Johnny Cash, but rather Bruce Wayne actor Christian Bale. Bale intimated his feelings that The Dark Knight Rises might be his final flight in the Bat costume for the big screen. Entertainment Weekly decided to go direct to the director’s mouth for his say in the matter. Symmetrically, the bright-eyed Chris Nolan mirrors his star’s sentiments, calling the third chapter, “the last chapter of our Batman saga.”

EW also asked whether it was troubling for Nolan to return to the DC comics inspired world rather than to labor over a new dive into his originality with another possibly million dollar making project like Inception. He replied, “No, it’s exactly the opposite. I feel very glad that I’m doing another Batman film. I think it would have been daunting to sit down and write an original script after Inception. I love working within the realm and rules of our Batman world. It’s kind of nice to have someplace to go that I’m super-excited about.”

And what about Inception? Are there sequels in store for joyfully dizzy fans in that franchise? Maybe. Maybe not. “Its not something I’ve given a lot of thought about,” he says. But what audiences may soon find on store shelves is an Inception video game.

For now, however, many unanswered questions remain for The Dark Knight Rises. Who are the female leads? And who does Inception‘s Tom Hardy portray? When we know, you will, too!
