Julia Roberts or Charlize Theron Snow White’s Evil Queen
Universal Pictures and Relativity Media are about to go head-to-head on Snow White projects, and they’ve both got their sights set on some pretty big fish for the part of Evil Queen. In Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman (with Michael Fassbender), Charlize Theron is the frontrunner for she of the dark mirror, mirror on the wall. But the fairest of them all may be Relativity Media’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, which, if the production company has its way, will star Julia Roberts in the Evil Queen role.
The projects are said to be very different, though we’ll have to wait and see just how different they turn out to be. We’re betting that the Roberts vehicle will be more like Sigourney Weaver’s horror version of Snow White, given that the Brothers Grimm had a way with presenting a stark tale in contrast to the Disney version that remains the most popular. Then again, after what Theron did in Monster, there is always the possibility that she might be a better candidate for a darker film. What do you guys think?
