Matt Damon in Blomkamp’s Elysium?

Production news for Elysium, the new film from Neill Blomkamp, is pretty hush-hush right now. Not much is known about what the film will be about, or who it will star. However, a piece of that puzzle may be falling into place, and it’s definitely good news for the director. Deadline reported today that Matt Damon is seriously being considered for a role, though there hasn’t been any official deal inked as of yet. With Sharlto Copley (District 9) already agreeing to commit, Damon’s inclusion pretty much means this thing will happen.

However, don’t expect any major announcements until all is set in stone, which should come sometime next year. In the meantime, you can next enjoy Damon in True Grit where he mercifully takes over for the godawful acting talents of Glen Campbell.
