The Wolverine – Hugh Jackman Digs Aronofsky, Bulks Up

Hugh Jackman and The Rock are teaming up for The Wolverine. Okay, that’s a bit misleading. Actually, Dwayne Johnson won’t be anywhere near a starring role in the movie–at least we think–but he has been advising Hugh Jackman on how to bulk up for the part. And according to Jackman, The Rock is giving him some much needed advice.

Director and friend Darren Aronofsky recently taxed the musically inclined Jackman with the chore of gaining 25 pounds of muscle before shooting begins on the film next year for a 2012 release. “Six months, a pound a week, 6,000 calories a day, which, Jackman points out, is an awful lot of chicken, steak, and brown rice,” writes EW. So kids, how do you think you would fare on a diet that consisted of three times the average guy’s allotted calorie intake?

(By the way, no story details yet on what The Wolverine will actually be about or how it will be related to the previous X-Men franchise, aside from the obvious.)
