America Ferrera on The Good Wife

I love The Good Wife! The smart Juliana Margulies CBS drama has three great things going for it. For one, the writer’s are agile and keen. Second, show topics are ripped from very current headlines. And third, Archie Panjabi portrays Kalinda, television’s toughest woman (in my humble opinion). What else does The Good Wife have? America Ferrera apparently!

Deadline.com gave us the news. “The WME-repped actress will play Natalie, a graduate student in whom Eli (Alan Cumming) develops a romantic interest.” Say what!? Can you picture Eli Gold in love? And with a younger woman no less. Oh my.

“We’ve been watching and loving America for years now on Ugly Betty, and it’ll be fantastic to see her take on a completely different role: especially one that puts her across from Alan Cumming,” Good Wife creator-executive producer Robert King said. Wow. I can’t wait! Could this top Michael J. Fox and his guest appearances? DigitalSpy said Ferrera would appear in at least three Good Wife episodes.

You can watch the show for yourself Tuesday nights on CBS. Margulies stars as a lawyer who, as the official website puts it, “re-enters the workforce after her husband’s very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail.” Please watch Margulies in City Island, as well, on video now. You won’t regret it!
