Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome Casts Luke Pasqualino and Ben Cotton
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome has found its Adama. Entertainment Weekly reports that Luke Pasqualino (Skins – U.K.) has the role of Adama in the new Syfy show. Ben Cotton (Hellcats, Riese) will be Adama’s commanding officer.
Take a look at the official character descriptions for the two characters:
Pasqualino will star as the young, talented fighter pilot William Adama, a recent Academy graduate who finds himself assigned to the newest Battlestar in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly finds himself at odds with Coker (Cotton), the battle-weary officer to whom he reports. With 45 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine mission turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.
Seeing the future commander as a still-wet-behind-the-ears graduate should be an interesting departure from the Adama we know from the first series, and I’m looking forward to seeing if Blood & Chrome is as good as the first BSG, and maybe even stick around longer than Caprica.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, which takes place during the 10th year of the first Cylon war, will debut on Syfy with a two-hour pilot but it’s unknown at this time if that debut will be in 2011 or 2012.
