Did you like the way the CW changed things up at the last minute so we’d have to wait even longer to get our Smallville fix? I didn’t either, but we’ll have a new episode on February 4th. In the meantime, some good news from TVGuide might provide some satisfaction while we’re waiting for another week to pass by and you can check out the “Collateral” preview clip in the meantime, too.
Callum Blue is coming back to Smallville, and that means it’s time once again to kneel before Zod. The last time we saw Clark’s number-two villain (second only to Luthor, in my opinion), he was being sucked into a portal that led to New Krypton. I thought that was a pretty lame ending for such a great bad guy so I’m glad to see Zod making another appearance on Smallville’s final season. Smallville’s not all about the villains this season though, because Booster Gold and Blue Beetle are also stopping by. Booster and Blue have always struck me as being the lamest duo in comic book history but most people seem to love them so I guess their appearance is a good thing.
There’s no word yet, on exactly how Zod figures into things but he’ll be showing up in one of the final five episodes. It’s just a guess, but I’m thinking Zod will have something to do with Clark finally taking the final steps to becoming Superman.
