Josh Lucas is Charles Lindbergh in Eastwood’s J. Edgar

When Clint Eastwood speaks, I listen. When he directs a film, I watch it. For that reason, we at BSC are following his latest project, J. Edgar with particular zeal.

The cast for the Hollywood biopic is shaping up quite nicely. As you know, A-lister Leo DiCaprio has taken the title role. This is a nice follow up to Inception for the actor. Dame Judi Dench and Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick have also signed on.

Now Josh Lucas is on board, too. He will portray the infamous Charles Lindbergh. That’s what our friends over at Deadline.com had to report. Lindbergh was a well known aviator and inventor whose 20-month old son was kidnapped in the 1932 incident widely labeled as the crime of the century. Bruno Richard Hauptmann, a 34-year old German immigrant carpenter, was eventually charged with the kidnapping. Damon Herriman has been cast as Hauptmann.

Josh Lucas was in a pair of good movies in 2009. They were the incredible drama Peacock, and the interesting thriller Tell-Tale. Both flew under the radar, so to speak. The 2010 mystery movie Stolen was also quite enthralling though it went to DVD almost immediately. He will appear in March opposite Matthew McConaughey in The Lincoln Lawyer.
