Lucy Lawless in No Ordinary Family

ABC’s No Ordinary Family is about to get ‘Lawless.’ Okay, I admit it. That was just a little cheesy. TVLine brings word that Lucy Lawless, who will be living large on Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, will be a recurring character on the comedy action series for at least five episodes this season.

The first-season Family isn’t really doing all that great in the ratings department and the hope is that having her appear through the end of the season will provide the boost the show needs to come back for round two.

Lawless will portray a powerful woman and potential adversary for the Powell clan, although there’s no word yet on exactly what ‘powerful’ means in this situation. Are we talking position of power or some truly kick-butt power that will really push the Powell’s to their super-powered limits?

The former Xena isn’t the only guest stopping by to help out with the ratings slump. Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer is making an appearance on the 17th episode and Breaking Bad’s Brenda Bradnt can be seen with the Powell’s in February. Check out BSC’s own Rachael Dorsey for the No Ordinary Family mid-season review to see why the show isn’t becoming the hit it should be.
