Mark Pellegrino in A&E’s Breakout Kings

One sure-fire way to avoid typecasting is to take on roles that are different, and you can’t get much more different than going from island protector to stone cold killer.

Mark Pellegrino (Jacob on Lost) will guest star on A&E’s fugitive-themed drama, Breakout Kings, as international contract killer Virgil Downing, according to TV Line.

Downing is a killer who always gets the job done and he’s good at covering his tracks. Even though he’s suspected of killing at least three-dozen people, the only conviction he received was for murdering a police commissioner. Six years later, after deciding prison really isn’t his style, Downing breaks out of a maximum-security cell.

Breakout Kings is produced by Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora, the same guys who brought us Prison Break (man, these guys really like felons who break out of prison). The show is expected to premiere in mid-March. Pellegrino’s Virgil Downing makes his appearance in the show’s 10th episode.
