Mia Wasikowska and Vera Farmiga take in A View From the Bridge

What do you think? Is Mia Wasikowska a household name yet? She was your Alice in the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland reboot and one of the title kids in The Kids are Alright, which felt the love at last weekend’s Golden Globes ceremony. She’ll also appear in the remake of Jane Eyre. That’s a film I hope will be wonderful. Everyone needs a little epic romance now and again.

If she isn’t a household name yet, this may help. Wasikowska has just signed on to join the beautiful Vera Farmiga and the Without a Trace star Anthony LaPaglia in A View From the Bridge, according to a Variety report. The film is based upon the classic Arthur Miller’s play of the same title. The story is a tragedy which centers upon a 1950′s era Italian American longshoreman who becomes obsessed with his orphaned niece. Wasikowska is the niece, Catherine, and Farmiga portrays LaPaglia’s wife.

Sam Neill (The Horse Whisperer) and Sebastian Stan (Black Swan) are also attached to the film, which LaPaglia will also co-produce.

LaPaglia reportedly “secured film rights and Miller’s approval after starring in the 1998 Broadway production for which he won a Tony Award for the role of Eddie Carbone.”

The film begins shooting in New York in June.
