Vanessa Hudgens Follows Britney Spears as New Face of Candie’s

Through Twitter, we have witnessed the passing of the baton and the photo makes it official as Britney Spears steps down and Vanessa Hudgens steps up as the new face of Candie’s.

Yesterday, Britney tweeted, “So fun being a Candie’s Girl! Look out for the @Candiesbrand pics of their new girl, Vanessa Hudgens! – Brit” and Vanessa responded back via Candie’s Twitter profile, “Thnx, @BritneySpears, you’re a tough act to follow …but, I’m so excited to be the new Candie’s girl for 2011!! – xo, Vanessa”

The High School Musical star is having a busy year with roles in Sucker Punch, Beastly and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, but being the 2011 Candie’s girl holds a special place in her heart, “Ever since I saw Fergie do the ads for Candie’s, I fell in love. It’s such an honor to be able to be a Candie’s girl.”

Vanessa is joining the ranks of numerous other beautiful celebs who have been the face of Candie’s over the years, including Fergie and Jenny McCarthy. Judging from her looks and her star power, I’d say she’s more than capable of holding her own in such company.
