Amanda Peet Bent on NBC

Amanda Peet hasn’t been on NBC since Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip back in 2007 but TVLine is reporting that she’s returning to her former home in a single camera romantic comedy, Bent, that’s being put together by former Scrubs producer Tad Quill.

The show, which is under consideration for the 2011-2012 season, will have Peet as a recently divorced ‘Type A’ kind of person who’s attracted to, but trying hard not to fall for, the surfer-dude contractor that she hired to re-do her kitchen. There’s no word yet on who will snag the surfer-dude role.

In addition to Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Peet has also appeared in How I Met Your Mother and Jack & Jill, as well as starring in some big screen features like 2012, Identity, the Bruce Willis/Matthew Perry comedies, The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel The Whole Ten Yards, and the recent Gulliver’s Travels with Jack Black.

Tad Quill has produced and scripted hits like Scrubs and Spin City.

I’m not sure how long they can stretch a series (even with half-hour episodes) based around kitchen repairs, unless that becomes one heck of a monster repair job, but I guess Peet can have the guy renovate other parts of the house if sparks fly between the two.
