Batman Dark Knight Rises in 12 Weeks

There is an Arlington Theatre in the downtown Santa Barbara area where famed director Chris Nolan once saw Aliens. The Batman Begins director returned there last weekend for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where he was awarded the Modern Master Award for Inception. …And rightfully so!

There, Nolan talked Batman, or The Dark Knight Rises, to be exact, his upcoming and much anticipated sequel. We learned the details from ComingSoon.net.

The best news came directly from Nolan’s mouth. “We’ve worked on it a long time – David Goyer and myself. We’re about 12 weeks away from shooting. We start in May.” You heard correctly, folks, the third, and probably final installation of Nolan’s caped crusader reboot will begin filming very soon.

When asked why there would be a third film at all, Nolan replied, “It was about finishing the story.”

ComingSoon further reported, “Nolan still wouldn’t confirm whether Anne Hathaway would play Catwoman or just Selina Kyle. When asked, he smiled coyly and wouldn’t say a word.” They even gave us a release date: July 20th, 2012.

Simultaneously, Nolan “and his wife/producing partner Emma Thomas will also be working on the new Zack Snyder-directed Superman film.” I hope that won’t give them super hero burn out!
