Captain America First Avengers Pics!

Captain America: The First Avenger storms into theaters on July 22nd but you don’t have to wait that long to see Chris Evans as the star-spangled patriot. The latest edition of Empire magazine has some images tucked within the pages and ComingSoon was able to get their hands on some scanned copies of these sweet images. We’ve seen Chris strike a macho pose (minus the helmet) on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, got a peek at Cap in action, saw a grainy Cap surrounded by menacing soldiers, and even got a look at his old-school shield, but now we get a good, clear look at Captain America in full uniform. I had some serious doubts about how Cap would look when he came to the big screen but I’m thrilled with how they handled the real-world look of the iconic red, white and blue outfit.

We also get a look at Steve Rogers getting a little physical with Heinz Kruger (Richard Armitage), along with a glimpse of Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Steve’s WWII love interest, looking like she’s not the type who needs a costumed superhero to save her butt when things get rough. We also get a somewhat rough look at Tommy Lee Jones as Colonel Chester Phillips and Natalie Dormer as Private Lorraine.

Iron Man was first to the theaters but the truth is all in the title. Captain America: The First Avenger introduces an iconic here to the big screen for the first time and gets things moving a little closer to the ultimate superhero film, The Avengers. Yes, I’m ready to get my geek on.
