D.J. Caruso To Beat The Reaper – Leonardo DiCaprio Too?
If you haven’t heard of D.J. Caruso yet, you will when I Am Number Four hits theaters next week. The director of the sci-fi action adventure already has his next project lined up, according to indieWire. Caruso will be helming Beat the Reaper, based on Josh Bazell’s debut novel with the same title.
Beat the Reaper is about a former mobster in the witness relocation program. He becomes a doctor but has to deal with the possibility of his old life catching up with his new life, and parts of that old life has to do with some unsavory characters who recently learned he’s still alive. The novel is a launch pad for the morally challenged ‘Dr. Brown’ to continue his adventures in a potential series.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who has a pretty full schedule with Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar and The Devil in the White City, is producing the film under his Appian Way banner, and Caruso is hoping to find out if DiCaprio can star in the film as well.
The novel, Beat the Reaper, is available at bookstores now, and you can catch I Am Number Four at theaters on February 18th.
