Dawn Olivieri on Ian Somerhalder and Vampire Diaries

The Hollywood Life refers to actress Dawn Olivieri’s CW alter-ego as “Mystic Falls’ intrepid reporter Andie Star”. Here at BSC, we just call her lucky. How else could we refer to the on screen girlfriend of Ian Somerhalder’s vampire, Damon? They recently got the scoop on what its like to co-star with the beloved Vampire Diaries babe.

Olivieri said, “I knew Ian already. We have mutual friends, and my boyfriend is his really good, close friend.” Uh oh! Maybe Dawn’s significant other wasn’t so appreciative of a certain bath tub scene involving Ian.

“You have to psych yourself up [for love scenes] and find things you like about the person so you can become attracted to them,” she said. “I mean, it’s not so hard with Ian. He’s very charismatic and sweet and compassionate … and he’s not too bad on the eyes. So it’s not such a bad situation for me.”

I hope you’re sitting down, because Dawn went into further detail. ”We were able to ignite that attraction fairly easily; that scene was very sweet and emotional. I’ll tell you what: I had a very nice, connective moment with Ian in that bathtub scene. … We shot it for hours, and we were so pruned that we’d both pull our legs out of the water and prop our feet up. We laughed, we had a really great time. It was a really nice, vulnerable scene. I really enjoyed that scene a lot.”
