Hans Zimmer – Batman: Dark Knight Rises “Extraordinarily epic.”

Hans Zimmer is a legendary film soundtrack and score composer. He has multiple Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy nominations to his credit, as well as several wins. My iPod keeps the Gladiator soundtrack, selected tracks from August Rush, Black Hawk Down and The Prince of Egypt on shuffle and I’ve even used the Pirates of the Caribbean theme as a ring tone for my cell. One of Zimmer’s latest scores, the one for Inception, is also Oscar nominated (and I hope it wins). Powerful it was.

But let’s talk about Zimmer at Batman. The master will score Chris Nolan’s upcoming Bat-sequel, Batman: Dark Knight Rises. MTV reported the details. They caught up with the music man at the premier for another of his productions, Rango.

“There’s definitely a D minor in it,” Zimmer teased about the upcoming score. “Absolutely. We’ve got some D minor going on. No, we are thinking hard about that one right now. That’s going to be extraordinary.”

Furthermore, “The one thing I can tell you is that it’s going to be a lot more epic. Extraordinarily epic.”

Alright! I can dig it! It seems Zimmer is taking cues from Nolan on being tight lipped about the Bat-project. I like being surprised as much as the next gal, but the hush is probably why there are so many rumors flying around. We’ve heard an Inception actress could find her way added to the Bat-cast, Robin might be a character in this final Nolan installment for the DC hero, and one of my personal favorite actors, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, might just be the one to portray the iconic side-kick.

When we learn more, you’ll be the first to know.
