Helena Bonham Carter and Michelle Pfeiffer in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows?

Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows might have some new residents moving into the Collinwood Mansion, according to Deadline. Michelle Pfeiffer is apparently in talks to play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard and, although official talks haven’t begun at this time, Helena Bonham Carter is supposedly set to play Dr. Julia Hoffman. Really? Is there a Tim Burton movie since Planet of the Apes that hasn’t featured his ladylove? I guess there’s really no room to complain, though. Certain combinations just seem to work; Bonham Carter has that kind of chemistry with Burton, and so does Johnny Depp, who happens to have the role of vampire Barnabas Collins.

In the original series, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard was the reclusive matriarch of the Collins clan and the owner of Collinwood, where all the strange and supernatural events unfolded. Dr. Julia Hoffman started out as an adversary to Barnabas, but she soon became an ally when she believes a cure for the vampire’s blood-thirst can be found.

If all the talks go as planned, Pfeiffer and Bonham Carter will be joining Earle Haley’s conman and Bella Heathcote’s governess, as well as Eva Green’s witch.
