Jessica Biel and Uma Thurman Playing the Field as Soccer Moms

Variety is spreading the news of about a new upcoming romantic comedy that takes place on the soccer field. Well, not all the action will unravel in plain sight, I’ll bet. Jessica Biel and Uma Thurman are literally two hot mommas in the film, titled Playing the Field, which will place them opposite another hottie, Mr. Gerald Butler. Butler is a former professional soccer player who decides to coach his son’s soccer team in attempt to forge a tighter bond with the tyke. Butler then finds the moms of other players throwing themselves at him. Couldn’t be too terrible a problem to endure, eh?
Thurman is a lovely soccer mom while Biel is portraying Butler’s ex-wife.
Gabriele Muccino will direct the film with a script penned by Robbie Fox. Butler is also “producing with his Evil Twins partner Alan Siegel, as well as Jonathan Mostow, Kevin Misher and Heidi Jo Markel.” The comedy will come to us via Nu Image/Millennium Films.
Thurman’s other pending films include Max Winkler’s flick, Ceremony, and Bel Ami opposite Robert Pattinson. She will also “be seen as Lois Lane in the comedy omnibus Movie 43.”
Biel, on the other hand, just won a role in New Line’s rom-com New Year’s Eve, which is a follow up to Valentine’s Day, where she also starred.
