Joseph Gordon-Levitt Rejoins Nolan in Batman: The Dark Knight Rises?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Christopher Nolan made a great team with Inception and Deadline brings word that the two may be joining forces again. Gordon-Levitt is apparently in talks to join Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises. Another familiar face from Inception, Tom Hardy, is also starring in the film as Bane.
There’s no word yet on who Gordon-Levitt might portray and my mind is running wild through Batman’s rogue gallery to see if he fits as any of the bad guys. Considering the depth of talent he’s exhibited in films ranging from Inception to Elektra Luxx, there really is no way to narrow it down, and there’s no guarantee that he’d even be a bad guy.
The Dark Knight Rises is expected to start shooting this Spring, giving Gordon-Levitt plenty of time to finish up Rian Johnson’s Looper if he does sign on to what might be the final outing for Bale in the Batman franchise.
Regardless of whether or not Gordon-Levitt signs on to the project, he’ll still be showing up on the big screen in the indie film Hesher and Jonathan Levine’s Live With It.
Who do you see Gordon-Levitt portraying in the Batman universe? I’d peg him for Scarecrow if Cillian Murphy hadn’t already made that role his own.
