Julie Bell & Boris Vallejo Rubber Poster

Feast your eyes on what happens when artistic talent meets crass commercialism. Somehow, artists-supreme Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell were roped into doing a poster for Quentin Dupieux’s movie, Rubber. Vallejo has the talent and inclination to make anything look sexy, so his imagery (combined with the title) might make one assume we’re talking about a movie that could possibly be adult-oriented. I’m going to let you know right now that you can just calm down because you can’t judge a book by its cover… or a movie by its poster.
Rubber is about a killer tire, and if that’s not weird enough, the tire’s name is Robert. Yep, just when you thought it was safe to get back on the road, Robert the killer Goodyear is cruising around waiting to run you over. Actually, Dupieux thought a tire running someone over might be a little dumb so he gave Robert some killer psychic powers. Oh yes! Think it’s too weird to be true? Just hop on over to Crypt Keeper’s Corner for a minute to check out the trailer and see for yourself.
I saved the absolute best part of last. Want to know what Dupieux thought about the artwork created by one of the greatest fantasy artists alive? He shared his thoughts on Twitter under his musical nickname of Mr Oizo: “I f**ing hate the poster they use on Itunes US right now. They f**ed me. That’s not my movie. F**k them ! Don’t buy RUBBER !”
Dude, the poster is the only reason anyone would have a desire to see that movie.
