Kat Dennings Starts To Write Love on Her Arms

Kat Dennings (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) recently began filming Renee (tentative title), a fictional account of the real life Renee Yohe, whose story of addiction, depression, self-harm and attempted suicide was chronicled by Jamie Tworkowski in To Write Love on Her Arms. Tworkowski’s account of Yohe’s life in the days before entering treatment was turned into a non-profit organization of the same name dedicated to helping people struggling with the same issues.

Dennings will play Yohe with Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill) portraying Tworkowski. Rupert Friend (The Young Victoria) and Corbin Bleu (High School Musical) will also star. Performances by musicians involved with TWLOHA, such as Rachael Yamagata and Travie McCoy, will be featured. The film, directed by Nathan Frankowski (Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed) began production in Orlando, Florida this week and is expected to wrap in late March.

Dennings recently signed on to play the character of Max in the CBS pilot Two Broke Girls, a single camera comedy about two young women struggling to make ends meet in New York City, with Whitney Cummings. She also has a part as Darcy, a friend and colleague of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, in the upcoming Marvel Comics film Thor, to be released this summer.
