Kiefer Sutherland in Fox’s Touch

24’s time might have run out but I knew there was no way Kiefer Sutherland would be allowed to remain absent from the small screen for too long. TVLine brings word that the man who was Jack Bauer has closed a deal to star in a new drama from FOX called Touch. The show, about a dad (Sutherland) who learns his autistic, mute son can predict the future, is the first pilot script from Tim Kring since he wrote Heroes. Charles McDougall (Desperate Housewives, The Good Wife, The Chicago Code) is in talks to direct the pilot.

Touch will be getting a slightly late start as production is scheduled to start in late May or early June so that Sutherland can finish his commitment with the Broadway revival of Jason Miller’s That Championship Season. That means mid-Spring is probably the earliest that we can expect for this one to show up.

While the FOX drama has only been given the go-ahead for a pilot at this point, it’s a pretty safe bet that the series will get the green light since Kiefer is attached to it.
