Kristen Bell Enters Showtime’s House of Lies
It’s been awhile since Kristen Bell’s face has been on the small screen (I don’t really count Party Down), but her voice is probably familiar to fans of the CW’s Gossip Girl and she’s easily recognizable for fans of Heroes and Veronica Mars. TVLine is reporting that her TV absence is about to come to an end.
Kristen will be joining Don Cheadle (Iron Man 2) in the Showtime pilot for House of Lies, which is based on the novel, House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time. In the show, Cheadle plays an aggressive consultant named Marty who will do anything to get the info his clients want. Kristen will be Jeannie van der Hooven, a smart Ivy League graduate who works at his firm. The dark comedy also stars Dawn Olivieri as Marty’s ex-wife, who also happens to be his biggest competition, along with Ben Schwartz and John Lawson as employees at Marty’s firm.
The return to TV doesn’t mean Kristen is abandoning the big screen, though. She’ll be appearing in the upcoming films Scream 4, Movie 43 and Everybody Loves Whales.
Are you ready for a show where the main character is self-loathing professional who doesn’t have the strongest of morals? Considering that his ex actually has a more successful firm, it could be fun to see exactly how low these two can go.
House of Lies is expected to into production this month.
